THE FAMILY:
Amà, comes from the Catalan ”a mà”, which means ”handmade”, and is how this lamp is made. With hand-turned beech wood, solid brass details, and a domed shade, hand-woven in natural rattan.
Designed by Mariano Chitarrini in Barcelona, and inspired by the atmospheres of the mediterranean houses of the great architects of the 20th century, it is a tribute to local craftsmanship.
The contrast between white, wood, and natural rattan hand-woven in our Barcelona workshop, make this an elegant and cozy piece. The texture of its materials is enjoyed at sight.
LAMPSHADE:
The Amà floor lamp, features a shade of ø 40 cm (ø 15.7”), and 29 cm (11.4”) high. With its dome shape, it is hand-woven in our workshops, with natural rattan. After weaving, the shade is protected with a layer of colorless varnish to better withstand humid conditions. Likewise, it is a lamp only suitable for interiors.
LIGHT:
In its interior, it has a double lamp holder, with place for two bulbs type E-27 or E-26. It is recommended to use LED filament bulbs, warm color. It provides a dim light very pleasing to the eye, which highlights the natural details of the rattan of the lampshade. Turns on with a handle located inside the shade.
STRUCTURE:
It features a continuous vertical upright, which enters the rattan shade. Its materiality combines white and colorless varnished beech wood, highlighting the natural beauty of each material. The precision with which the union between these two materials is made, makes a total continuity in the foot of the lamp.
POSITION:
To place mainly next to sofas, in a corner of the living room or in a reading area.
